Case Summary On April 20, 2001, two inmate deaths occurred within three days in a mysterious prison in City M. The forensic team arrived at the scene promptly and, after a preliminary investigation, determined that one person died from excessive blood loss due to a sharp object piercing the left lung, with a time of death within 8 hours. The other deceased had obvious strangulation marks on the neck with no other visible injuries, initially judged to have died from mechanical asphyxia, with a time of death around 10 to 12 hours. Following an emergency search by the prison staff, a blood-stained knife was found in the cell of inmate number 16207, making him a prime suspect. He was then isolated in solitary confinement awaiting police investigation and interrogation.
